A Jacket Well Worn: Claudiu Pascalaul SS25

We caught up with Claudiu Pascalau over a well-brewed flat white in Haggerston, one of East London’s quieter corners that still buzzes with creative energy. A discerning eye in the world of menswear, Claudiu balances his day job as Global Customer Experience Manager for Drakes with a cultivated presence on Instagram, where he shares snapshots of his sartorial choices and urban explorations.

Based predominantly in London, his feed is a love letter to the city. Expect preppy looks, tucked-away restaurants, and the occasional plate of something comforting. For those in search of effortless style and a poetic take on the capital, he's well worth a follow.

A Jacket Well Worn is a series in which we catch up with Lavenham wearers and learn about their lives and work, capturing them in their well-loved Lavenham pieces.

## What’s new in your world since we last caught up? Work or otherwise.

There is not a whole lot of newness. I've been on the road a fair bit - both for work and personal time off. Other than that, I am trying to enjoy summer in London as much as possible. The city really comes to life this time of year!

## Since we last saw you, have you noticed any shifts in your personal style? If so, what do you think has shaped those changes?

I've started experimenting with wider silhouettes, both for trousers and tops. I think there's that sweet spot - when going slightly oversized looks just right. I enjoy the aesthetic, and it adds some variety into my outfits rotation. I believe it all started with trying to be more comfortable when on the move!

## We’ve noticed you’re often on the move. Are there any wardrobe staples you always take with you, and what are your go-to tips for packing stylishly when space is limited?

I'd like to think that over time I became quite good at packing efficiently. Regardless of where I go, there will usually be a navy jacket, a pair of dark denim and a few shirts in staple colours (white, blue stripes, etc.). Depending on the time of the year and duration of the trip, I'll either add knits - rollnecks are my go-to, or t-shirts in the summer and a matching pair of trousers (to the jacket). Basically, I try to pack things I can wear often in different variations. What I found out is that I generally overpack anyways, so take my advice with a pinch of salt.

## Alongside your love of clothing and style, we know food is another passion of yours. Are there any favourite spots, whether in London or further afield, you’d recommend?

Food plays a big role in my life. I've recently had a great meal in London at the Fat Badger in Notting Hill. It's an elevated gastro pub where every single thing I've tried was great! Other London staples include the French House in Soho, St JOHN in Smithfield and Rochelle Canteen in Shoreditch.

If you find yourself in New York, you need to try Minetta Tavern for what I think is possibly the best burger in the world. Bold statement, I know!

## The first piece we first saw you in was the Zip Thornham gilet from our 2019 season. Six years on, we’ve reimagined that design with subtle updates. Are there any details in the new version that stand out to you, or that you prefer over the original?

The Thornham gilet holds a very special place in my wardrobe and the updated design is just as good in my opinion. It's stylish, yet practical, as it can be worn on its own over a jumper, or as a layer under a jacket during the colder months. What I like the most on the new version is the contrast piping around the armholes, collar and zippers, as well as the interior chest pocket.

## Do you see your Lavenham pieces continuing to accompany you on your journey, growing with your style and earning their place in your wardrobe over time?

Absolutely, and I think that's exactly what makes them special! They have a timeless appeal, and they come in very versatile tones, ensuring I can wear them with most of my wardrobe! They also happen to be very well crafted, so I have no doubts they'll stay with me for years to come.
