Lavenham x Brady

A celebration of British craft and traditional manufacture.

Brady Bag and Lavenham Jackets. Two brands, different parts of the UK, both carrying the torch for British manufacture. Both started out creating practical, functional products for use during British countryside pursuits that have since been adopted for everyday wear by those who appreciate quality and the utility aesthetic. Both making their respective products in their own factories, in the traditional way.

It made sense then for us to come together and collaborate on a limited-edition version of one of Brady's most enduring styles, the Norfolk Bag. We've kept everything about the bag the same, just layered our signature 2" diamond quilt Lavenster over the cotton drill body of the bag. The result is a functional and durable piece that transcends fashion trends, and that embodies the years of heritage, skill and expertise preserved by both Lavenham and Brady.

Brady: Founded 1887 in Birmingham

The brand was founded way back in 1887 in Birmingham by brothers John and Albert. They started out making leather gun cases, before expanding into fishing and game bags. Brady quickly became renowned across the globe for the highest quality leather sporting goods, and to this day still make everything by hand in their factory in Walsall, Birmingham.

Working with the best quality cotton canvas, brass components and English bridle leather they are still creating those styles first introduced in the 30s and 40s to the original patterns, with the same traditional manufacturing techniques.

The Norfolk Bag

First conceived of around 1976, the Norfolk Bag is a compact version of the Ariel Trout fishing bag designed in the 1920s. Proportionally the same as the original, the convenient size makes it a great choice for an everyday handbag, and it has remained a best-seller since 1976. This Quilted Norfolk Bag has been overlayed with Lavenham's signature 2" diamond quilt Lavenster, quilted in Suffolk, England, adding an extra layer of durability and heritage to the piece.
